BURKUT Academy Sports Club is a non-profit organization based on volunteerism. We operate in the field of Dynamic Shooting, offering training and competitions structured under the rules of IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association), one of the most widely recognized disciplines in this sport worldwide.

Dynamic shooting is a scenario-based, time-constrained shooting discipline that combines physical agility, mental focus, and tactical decision-making. BURKUT approaches this field not merely as a competitive sport, but as a platform for cultivating awareness, responsibility, and personal development.

 

Our Philosophy

At BURKUT Academy, progress is not measured solely by results, but by consistency, discipline, and awareness demonstrated throughout the process.
We value not just reaching the target, but also the lessons learned along the journey.

The IDPA Discipline

One of the core disciplines we follow is IDPA, established in the United States in 1996. It is a dynamic shooting discipline based on real-life defensive scenarios, using everyday carry handguns and equipment.

IDPA challenges participants not only with marksmanship but also with practical, real-world skills such as positioning, use of cover, threat prioritization, and ammunition management.
Today, IDPA is practiced in over 50 countries by more than 50,000 registered shooters, and continues to grow as a respected discipline globally.

 

Training and Competition Programs

BURKUT Academy sustains the culture of dynamic shooting year-round through structured events and educational activities:

• Weekly Tier 1 training sessions (with 15–35 participants)

• Monthly club matches

• Bi-weekly Classifier matches (ranking-based performance evaluations)

• Special training programs for international Tier 2, 3, and 4 level matches

• Three annual IDPA Safety Officer (SO) certification courses

All activities are conducted by organizers and instructors with international IDPA experience.

 

Safety Is Our Top Priority

Dynamic shooting demands a high level of attention and responsibility. BURKUT Academy conducts all activities in compliance with Law No. 6136 on Firearms, Knives, and Other Tools and its relevant regulations in the Republic of Türkiye.

Participation in our events is permitted only upon submission of a valid firearm carry or possession license.
All firearms use, transportation, and storage must adhere strictly to legal standards and under authorized supervision.

Accordingly:

• A mandatory safety briefing is conducted before every training and match.

• Participants must sign a waiver form in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data.

• Certified Safety Officers (SOs) are present to enforce safety throughout all events.

• Participants are obligated to handle and operate their firearms legally, responsibly, and under valid license.

BURKUT upholds public safety, legal compliance, and sports ethics as non-negotiable principles, maintaining a deeply rooted culture of safety in all its operations.
